Lusíadas Hospital, located on the 2nd floor of Ferrara Plaza Shopping Centre in Paços de Ferreira, spans an area of over 4,000 m². It includes 25 consultation rooms, 7 diagnostic exam rooms, 2 operating blocks with two rooms for various surgical specialties, and a state-of-the-art imaging service. Additionally, it offers outpatient consultations, 24/7 emergency services, laboratory testing, and dental care, with the creation of approximately 500 jobs anticipated.
This was an extremely challenging project, marked by a demanding execution deadline of just 4 months.
The HVAC system is water-based, with production ensured by two chillers, distributed through over 6,000 meters of black steel piping feeding approximately 100 fan coil terminal units.
Additionally, around 6,000 m² of ductwork was installed to distribute air from the Hygienic Air Handling Units and approximately 30 fans.
Beyond the HVAC system, laminar flow filtered ceilings were implemented in the operating blocks, along with smoke extraction systems, associated electrical infrastructures, and the Centralized Technical Management System.
