The Fladgate Partnership group, owner of the Taylor’s, Croft, Fonseca and Krohn brands, designed World of Wine, a gigantic visitor center with an area of around 30 thousand square meters in the historic center of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Five museums, 12 restaurants, craft shops, a wine school and space for temporary exhibitions will attract more than half a million visitors a year. In practice, the World of Wine (WoW) project results from the conversion of the group’s old warehouses, located below the Yeatman Hotel and the Taylor’s visitor center, to create an hub of culture, retail and restaurants, which aims to function as a “catalyst”, stimulating investment and development in the area.
In addition to the wine museums, cork, fashion and design, tourists will also have the opportunity to visit the museum of Porto, dedicated to the history, development and architecture of the region over time. And you can see, in a fifth space, how the cup, chalice and other drinking vessels evolved. The museum’s collection is the result of the personal collection of Adrian Bridge, which has pieces with eight thousand years of history from all over the world.
